History
In 2020, during the worldwide pandemic, our CEO Hafeezah’s six-year-old son desperately needed mental health services, and she struggled to find a provider that accepted Medicaid. After learning that over 42M children are on Medicaid, over 20M are struggling with mental health symptoms, and only a fraction of mental health providers accept Medicaid patients, Hafeezah’s mission was born. In 2021, she founded Backpack Healthcare (formerly Youme Healthcare) to solve the children’s mental health epidemic.
